We cover our experiences at the convention, including taking part as panelists and media, cospalying, organizing and running photoshoots, and seeing the exhibitor hall and artist alley. We take a no holds barred approach to evaluating the positives and negatives of Canada’s largest anime convention.

Episode 80: Convention Season 2019

Bastards of Kingsgrave starts our coverage of the 2019 convention season with a recap of our time visiting as press at Calgary Expo 2019, including a live interview on the floor with Andrew Phung and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee from CBC’s Kim’s Convenience TV show (starts at 7 minutes in, audio quality improves around 7min 40 seconds in).

In the aftershow, we talk about our time at the Otafest anime convention and about our upcoming conventions this year. We also discuss the recent movies we have seen (Alita: Battle Angel,  Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) in a spoiler full discussion.
